Pol Roger Brut

Pol Roger

Brut

-Champagne

"Pol Roger Brut Réserve diplays a beautiful golden straw coloured hue, as well as abundant and fine bubbles. With a powerful and attractive nose, it first delivers aromas of fruit (pear, mango ...) and then releases light flavours of honeysuckle and white jasmine, lingering on vanilla and brioche notes. Behind a frank and dynamic attack, the wine encompasses a nice harmony and a pleasant freshness, whilst preserving some structure. On the palate, flavours of cooked fruit (quince jelly, apricot jam) happily mingle with fragrances of beeswax and acacia honey. The long-lasting aromas, composed of both fruity (candied orange peel, tangerine...) and spicy notes (cardamom, anis) is outstanding."

2016 Givry 1er Cru Rouge

-Burgundy

Wine Spectator

Score: 91 Points!

"Drinking now where it is showing the distinctive raspberry aroma of younger Givry it is best served decanted for at least a couple of hours and between 16 – 18 degrees. Well-cellared it will continue to improve for at least 5 years and will keep for a further 10 during which time it will take on more earthy and gamey flavours"

Domaine Faiveley

2016 Gevrey Chambertin

-Burgundy

Wine Spectator

Score: 90 Points!

"The cherry and plum fruit is shaded by sweet spice notes in this elegant red. Balanced and long, echoing spice and incense details on the finish. Best from 2021 through 2030."

James Suckling

Score: 92 Points!

"The very spicy perfumed nose draws you into this rich wine. Shows a hint of earth and quite substantial tannins, which are already beautifully integrated. The finish long and rather sophisticated. Drink or hold."

2015 Quintessence

-Cotes du Ventoux

Wine Advocate

Score: 93-95 Points!

"Tasted as a final blend, the inky colored 2015 Ventoux la Quintessence is a step up over previous vintages, and I suspect it will be the greatest vintage for this cuvee to date. Not harvested until the 18th of October (which is average to early for this terroir... they finished on October 31st in 2013), it has sensational purity and polish, with full-bodied richness, a big mid-palate, ultra-fine tannin and killer notes of creme de cassis, blackberries, licorice and graphite. Count me as a fan and it's anther wine that will see its 20th birthday in fine form."

Chateau Mont Redon

2016 Chateauneuf du Pape

-Rhone Valley

Wine Spectator

Score: 93 Points!

"A compact style, with notes of roasted alder and juniper coating the dark fig and black currant paste flavors. Shows woodsy grip through the finish, while licorice root and tobacco accents fill in liberally. A touch austere from the wood!"

Ch Lassegue

Chateau Lassegue

2015 Saint Emilion

-Bordeaux

Robert Parker

Score: 93+ Points!

"Made by Pierre Seillan of Verité in Sonoma (the estate was purchased by the Jackson Family in 2003) from 50- to 60-year-old vines on clay and limestone, the 2015 Lassegue is composed of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with expressive black forest cake, preserved plums and blackberry pie notes with an undercurrent of mocha, grilled meats, sandalwood and cigar box plus a waft of lavender. Medium to full-bodied, rich and densely packed with opulent layers of spiced black fruit preserves and chocolate box notions, it has wonderfully plush yet firm tannins and a lovely suggestion of background acid, finishing long and fragrant."

Ch Fonreaud

Chateau Fonreaud

2015 Listrac

-Bordeaux

Wine Spectator

Score: 92 Points!

"The 2015 Fonréaud is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot cropped at 38Hl/Ha. It has a clean and fresh raspberry coulis, cranberry and strawberry scented bouquet with cedar and tobacco scents interwoven. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, good depth, nicely structured but not unapproachable. It feels long and tender in the mouth with a crisp saline finish. This Listrac is just as good as it was at last year's Cru Bourgeois tasting."

Wine Advocate

Score: 92 Points!

"Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Fonreaud offers impressive, engaging blackberry and briary scents on the nose, well defined and focused with just a slight reduction that works in its favor. The palate is medium-bodied with firm but fine tannin, plenty of spice-tinged black fruit mixed with graphite and cedar toward the structured finish. I admire the length of this Listrac and I suspect it will give many years of pleasure. Sign me up! Tasted September 2017."

Wine Spectator

Score: 90 Points!

"Focused, charming and open, sporting peach, apple and butterscotch flavors. The acidity shines through on the crisp finish. Should come together nicely in a year. Drink now through 2023."

Chateau Fuisse Tete

2016 Pouilly Fuisse

-Burgundy

Wine Spectator

Score: 90 Points!

"Defined flavors of apple, lemon and mineral are deftly shaded by spicy oak in this tightly knit white that's intense and long, with an equilibrium that should gain cohesion over the next year or so. Best from 2020 through 2027."
